Church Programs

Youth Group

This group seeks to gather all children from the age 12 to 18. During the past year, the Youth Group has participated in a Haunted Hay Ride, a Car Wash, a Lock-In, the Annual Pie Bake, and various other activities.

Senior High Youth Fellowship (SHYF)

This group meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month from September thru June. It is open to all young adults in High School (9th – 12th Grades). The purpose of this group is to gather for a fun time, but to also have a place to discuss those issues taking place in their lives.

Bible Studies – Reflections on Scriptures

Currently there are two opportunities to gather and study God’s Word. These study groups are always open to any who would like to participate. There is no prior experience needed, just an open mind and a desire to learn.

The first Bible Study group meets on the 1st and 2nd Tuesdays of the month from September to June. We gather at 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the Pastor’s Study at the church and Pastor Steve tries to have the coffee on for all. The second Bible Study group meets each Wednesday morning at 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the Church Parlor from September to June. Again, Pastor Steve has the coffee ready for all in attendance.

Prayer Chain

The members of this group perform an important function in the life of our congregation. Those who part of the Prayer Chain respond to a call for prayer on behalf of any member or friend of our congregation. Each member is alerted and is followed by a dedicated time of prayer.

Visitation Committee

Another vital part of our ministry are those people who serve on the Visitation Committee. Their task is relatively simple, but extremely important. They serve as an extension of the Pastor in the visiting of those members and friends who are shut-in or home-bound.

Church Dinners

It would be impossible to speak of SBRC without speaking of our Church Dinners! Currently, the church holds four dinners annually. The Roast Beef Dinner is held in April and in November, the Chicken Barbeque is held in June and the Ham Dinner is held in September. There is always enough food to go around! Along with our dinners, there is also a Bake Sale which features homemade items from our church members – pies, brownies, cakes, and more.

Women’s Group

As part of the backbone of the church, this group of dedicated women meet the 1st Tuesday of each month to discuss ways of helping the church and providing an opportunity for fellowship. This group is open to ALL women of the church. Their participation in the life of the church is truly important as their efforts have seen the completion of many projects around the church building and property.

Men’s Breakfast

This group started up again after a short hiatus and seeks to gather all the men of the church on the 2nd Saturday of the month. We meet at 9:00 AM in the Dining Room for breakfast. It has become an important time to gather and “catch up” with one another. Following breakfast, those who are able are encouraged to join in one of the various tasks around the church. From installing window air-conditioning units to making minor repairs, this group has saved the church countless dollars.

Fellowship Club

Designed to gather the “younger couples” and singles of the church, this group meets periodically throughout the year. The goal of this group is fellowship. From sharing in a meal to going to the movies to holding a progressive dinner, this is a time for gathering and enjoying each other’s company.
